JUSTIN Bieber has been accused of arrogance after leaving a bizarre tribute in
the guestbook of the Anne Frank House.
The 19-year-old pop star visited the Amsterdam museum where Jewish Anne hid in
fear from the Nazis.
But after an hour-long visit to the shrine, Canadian Bieber wrote: "Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl.
"Hopefully she would have been a Belieber."
A message on the Anne Frank House official Facebook page yesterday said: "Justin Bieber visited the Anne Frank House, together with his friends and guards.
“Fans were waiting outside to see a glimpse of him. He stayed more than an hour in the museum.”
But blundering Bieber has been slammed by historical organisations for his blase take on the Holocaust.
Gillian Walnes MBE, co-founder of The Anne Frank Trust UK, said: “This is a place where Anne spent two years hiding in claustrophobic conditions, where she put down her dreams of making the world a better place.
“Now 70 years later a pop singer is trying to hijack this for his own self-aggrandisement.
“It says a lot about what his ego is turning into.”
Jewish Anne’s family fled Germany in 1933 when Hitler took power. But she died of typhus in a Nazi concentration camp in 1945 aged just 15.
Her world-famous diary was published after the war ended.
A spokesman for Bieber, 19, was unavailable for comment last night.
