Britain’s Got Talent slammed for raunchy lap dance

BRITAIN'S Got Talent has been slammed after its latest show featured a lap dancer and a girl of 11 singing about a

one-night stand.

Outraged viewers posted messages online about how the show was not family entertainment and had embarrassed

some parents watching with young children.

Dozens of complaints were made to media watchdog Ofcom in the wake of the raunchy strip-tease.

The first show of BGT's new series featured dancer Keri Graham, 43, who stripped to a skimpy outfit before writhing

around judge Simon Cowell.

Arisxandra Libantino, aged 11, also promted attacks on show bosses after she sang the track One Night Only.

One viewer wrote: “Nice family viewing as your child asks ’Mummy why has that lady got hardly any clothes on and what

is she doing with those men?’”

And best-selling writer Jojo Moyes said: “I hate that lapdancer moves are somehow considered family entertainment.”

Geri Gibson tweeted: "I thought that little girl singing One Night Only was a bit off seems I wasn't the only one #BGT".

And Twitter user JFT96 added: "So the sight of an 11 yr old girl singing One Night Only on BGT is ok is it?"

A total of around 30 complaints were made to Ofcom, with the majority targeting Keri Graham's dance. An Ofcom

spokesman said: "We've had complaints in which we're currently assessing but not investigating."

ITV said the weekend dance had been “carefully edited” to ensure it was suitable.

The show's Saturday evening launch peaked at an audience of 13 million viewers, while BBC rival The Voice drew 7.7

million at its height for the third of its programmes.

Last year, the programme was investigated by Ofcom after complaints over an appearance by burlesque dancer Beatrix

Von Bourbon but was cleared of breaching the broadcasting code.
