Baraje Resigns as Nigerian Railway Corporation Chairman: ''I Lost Confidence in PDP''

The suspended National Chairman of the New Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, yesterday applied for resignation from the position of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) Chairman .
According to him, the decision was caused by the ongoing crisis in the ruling party.
Baraje claims that he is not confident in the party’s leadership any more, that is why it is better for him to resign.
The letter of resignation reads as follows:
“His Excellency, Mr. President will recall that this appointment came from his esteemed discretion in allotting some positions to our great party, the PDP.
“However, it is no longer news that there is an ongoing disagreement in principle between some top stakeholders of our party, of which I am among on the one hand and the current leadership of the party on the other," - the suspended member said.
Baraje laments that the current situation caused him lose faith in the present leadership of the PDP, which makes is unacceptable for him to remain the NRC Governing Board.
"I can no longer represent the interest of the party whose leadership I no longer believe in."
