It has been
reported that a group of 7 governors who are currently engaged in a
political face-off with President Goodluck Jonathan will today meet with
the leadership of their faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
All the members of the National Working Committee, NWC of the Baraje-led faction will be in attendance and the meeting which is expected to begin at 8pm will take place will take place at the Kano state Governors lodge in Asokoro
An anonymous source also mentioned that the governors and the faction’s executives would review the outcome of Sunday’s meeting between the ‘rebel’ governors and the president.
The meeting, the source said, will also consider strategies for strengthening the faction in the light of last week’s pronouncement by Justice Elvis Chukwu of an Abuja High Court regarding the status of the faction.
It was further revealed that the faction will also discuss the closure of its national and states secretariats by the police.
Also on the meeting agenda is the discussion of last week’s resignation of the National Treasurer of the faction, Tanko Gwamna, who subsequently pledged his allegiance to the BamangaTukur-led faction of the party.
