Don’t trust strangers, Fashola tells children

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State on Tuesday urged children to be security conscious and avoid talking to strangers whenever their parents or guardians were not with them.
Fashola gave the advice when he received pupils and teachers of Corona Nursery School at the Government House, Alausa, Ikeja.
According to him, the security situation has made it imperative for children to be extremely careful about the people they relate with.
He told the children that being careful was a sure way to be safe from harm or danger.
“You should always listen to your teachers and parents and study hard to be successful in life,” he added.
While answering questions from the excited pupils, Fashola explained that he was never forced but rather, he was encouraged to be Governor of Lagos State.
He added that after completing his tenure, he would like to be a teacher.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that earlier, the visiting pupils, guided by their teachers, sang a birthday song for Fashola, who turned 50 on June 28.
The governor also related to them a popular story, Jack and the Beanstalk.
