Yobe Under 24-Hour Curfew After Boko Haram Attack

A 24-hour-curfew has been enforced in Yobe state, following the latest attack on its capital Damaturu by suspected Boko Haram insurgents.
The measure was  on Thursday night announced via press statement by the spokesman of the 3 Division Special Operation Battalion, Damaturu, Captain Eli Lazarus.
It will be recalled that the Boko Haram sectants attacked the local police station and provoked a shootout with the Joint Military task force officers.
Residents in the area confirmed there was sporadic shooting, and a number of explosions.
In a statement, the law-abiding citizens were urged to stay calm, as the military forces carry out operations to rid the state of terrorists.
