Four persons were injured in a multiple auto crash involving four vehicles, along Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Way, Abuja.
Collision
happened on October 30, 2013, Wednesday, at about 3 p.m., when the
driver of a green Honda Accord with registration number BWR 291 AG,
coming from the Kado axis, lost control and veered off its lane and had a
head-on collision with a Toyota Corolla with registration number FD 973
LND.
A
grey Toyota Corolla with registration number BQ 660 KWL and a Kia with
registration number AKD 406 AS, with the inscription, Bam MFB, also
rammed into the other vehicles.
The
driver of the Honda Accord car and two occupants of the Toyota Corolla
and one other person were seriously injured, while the vehicles were
also badly damaged.
It
was also learnt that one of the female passengers, who wasn’t strapped
with the seat belt was flung out of the vehicle, and one of the vehicles
rammed into her.
Team
leader of the Vehicle Inspection Office, Life Camp unit, Mr. Felix
Okonkwo, who was at the scene, said the Honda Accord was driven by a
learner.
“The
driver of the Honda seemed to be a learner because we saw a learner’s
permit/signal on the car. He veered from his lane to another lane, thus
causing multiple collisions. The driver broke his legs and hands”.
“In fact, the vehicle went off the ground so, the impact must have been very high,” he added.
All the injured were taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
