Kwara State Election Rigging Debacle: Buhari Intervenes

Former Head of State, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari has intervened in the controversy trailing last Saturday’s re-run election in Offa council of Kwara state, where the State independent electoral commission declared PDP winner after declaring APC winner.

He has  invited  the  purported Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) councillorship candidate, Mr. Afolabi Olawole who denounced his victory saying the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the election, not him alongside the presiding officer for the ward, Mr. Akin Oyetunji and Jimoh for a “golden handshake” through a letter written on behalf of the ex-Military leader to the duo by a group known as “The Buhari Vanguard”.
The duo had publicly declared that contrary to the declaration by the State Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC), the APC won in the ward.
The group in the letter said it had the approval of General Buhari to invite the duo for a private session with him for their “unprecedented show of courage in denouncing electoral heist in Offa”.
