Kim Kardashian may be letting her fiance Kanye West take the lead with wedding planning, but there's one thing she knows for sure - she wants to look like Kate Middleton on her big day!
Although this is Kim's third trip down the aisle, the reality star wants to make it count in a sophisticated dress like the one Kate wore to marry Prince William in front of hundreds of millions of viewers.
"Kim is absolutely obsessed with everything Kate and William do," a source told Contact Music about the reality star. "She considers her own family 'American Royalty.' Kim loves Kate's style and while she is planning on several gowns for her big day, she wants the one for the ceremony to look something like Kate's dress."
The modest, long-sleeved gown that Kate wore was designed by Sarah Burton, head designer for the label Alexander McQueen. Kanye, who loves fashion and has designed his own collection in the past, has worked with Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci, who is based in Paris. Riccardo designed the controversial floral print dress that pregnant Kim wore to the Met Ball earlier this year.
And it's not just the dress that supposedly inspires Kim. The source also says that the 32-year-old new mom plans to wear a tiara at the wedding, and she and Kanye will sit on golden thrones during the ceremony.
This isn't the first time that Kim has expressed her admiration for Duchess Catherine. When the Kardashian Kollection clothing line came out, Kim sent Kate a few free pieces to wear. However, Kate politely declined the gift and sent the package back unopened.
