Six Killed in Fresh Violence in Plateau

Six people reported dead in a fresh outbreak of hostilities between suspected Fulani herdsmen and natives in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The attackers have initially attacked Gwande in Manguna District of the Local Government on Saturday night killing two people.
However, the villagers who launched a counter-attack succeeded in killing two of the attackers resulting in another reprisal attack on Sunday night that left two more people dead.
Members of the Special Task Force (STF) maintaining security in the state were reported to have responded to a distress call from the village forcing the attackers to flee.
The member representing Bokkos Constituency n the Plateau House of Assembly Mr. Titus Alams confirmed the killing of four people in the attack and appealed to the STF to send more men to the area to prevent a complete breakdown of the law.
Capt. Salisu Mustapha, STF’s Media Officer, confirmed the attack explaining that the force moved to the village on getting the distress call and succeeded in knocking the attackers out.
