Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most recognisable sports figures in the world, but the Real Madrid superstar is almost completely unrecognisable from his first season at Manchester United.
The Portuguese has worked on his physique to such an extent that the skinny winger that graced Old Trafford in 2003 is dwarfed by the hulking frame of the torso Ronaldo showed off on holiday in Miami.
The Real Madrid star, who denied he has agreed a contract extension at the Spanish giants, showed off his physique on a boat with friends.

He has improved his upper body strength remarkably, transforming him from a waif-like wideman who often flattered to decieve into a barnstorming powerhouse, tearing through opposition defences at will. The results are clear to see.
There is a noticeable building up over time, from the skinny kid fresh from Sporting Lisbon to the Real Madrid tank, with the intermediate stages giving signs of what was to come.
His current look also bears a striking resemblance to popular 90s cartoon Johnny Bravo.

WHO IS JOHNNY BRAVO?
Johnny Bravo is the cartoon protagonist of the series that carries the same name. He was narcissistic and although possessing native cunning, was intellectually challenged. A prominent feature of the show is his inability to attract women, and secure dates or relationships with them. Johnny's catch phrases were ‘She wants me!’ and ‘Wooaahh Mama!’ after women beat him up for refusing to leave them alone. The cartoon ran for four series on Cartoon Network from 1997 to 2004.
Bravo was famed for being narcissistic as well as his beefcake, muscular upper body. And pictures of the Real star show that his upper body is something that Bravo himself would be proud of.
Like Bravo, Ronaldo is popular with the ladies, although he seemed to be spending his time sunbathing with two male pals on the boat.
The Real Madrid footballer - who was sporting new blonde highlights - looked more chiseled than a Greek sculpture, in a pair of yellow swim shorts, while holidaying in Miami beach.
Looking out across the Miami coastline behind a pair of Aviator sunglasses, Ronaldo looked cheerful; clearly enjoying his time away with his friends.

And while they may not have matched the Portuguese football star's physical stature, they certainly shared his love for bright patterns and colours with one gent wearing pink shorts and the other in a checked pair.
Their tans certainly matched, and the three spent some time sunning themselves on the bow of the ship, enjoying a nap in the Floridian heat.

Showing off his buff body as he soaked up the Florida sun, the football superstar made sure he stood out from the crowd in a pair of bright yellow shorts.
Already sporting an impressive tan, Ronaldo looked every inch the dapper dude with his hair slicked up and dark shades sheltering his eyes from the rays.
