Tonto Dikeh put up a ‘munched’ image of an BlackBerry chat exchange between herself and the Free Madness artiste and producer, Terry G, on Instagram with the latter wondering what Tonto was doing up so late at night.
“Poko wat ar u still doing up dis late won’t u go to bed cause e Don pass ur bed time :p ,” he wrote.

D'Banj To Record Song With Other Artistes On Agric

Pop star, D'Banj has been unveiled as the official face for the 'One' campaign. Later in the week, at the African Union summit, the internationally acclaimed singer will be at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to officially launch the 'One' campaign during the ‘Year of Agriculture’ campaign at the summit.

The official name and logo of the campaign, as well as launch of 'One' online petition will be unveiled at the AU Summit. The campaign is aimed at calling on leaders to invest more in agriculture.

In February, D'Banj will lead other top African artistes to do a song, which will be produced by Cobhams Asuquo and music video to follow as well.

D'Banj will hope to use the initiative to promote agriculture among youths in Africa.

Cobhams revealed the joy in working with some stars on the project and expressed optimism in the "fact that I will be working with some of Africa's biggest stars" which he described as "fantastic.“

Why I’m Angry With Niger-Delta Situation—Omotola

The Niger-Delta region has largely remained under-developed despite being the air that Nigeria breathes. The country hugely depends on the oil being extracted from the region, but it is alarming that the area lacks some basic amenities it should not have been deprived of.

This was the reason some aggrieved youths in the area took arms against the country and demanded that it controls its resources. This has been kicked against, especially by the people of the Northern region, who insist that the crude oil from the region belongs to all Nigerians.

The administration of the late president Umar Yar’Adua successfully launched an amnesty programme, where militants in the region were lured to drop their arms to embrace peace. Government has also tried to develop the Niger-Delta region to make life bearable for the inhabitants of the place.

For star actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, who also comes from the region, Ondo State, her publicised fight for the region was applauded few years ago. As a UN ambassador as well as that of Amnesty International, she felt she could use her influence to tackle the problem and bring smiles to the faces of the people of the area.

One cannot easily forget how she took on Shell Petroleum, which is seen to be contributing to the pollution in the Niger-Delta region.

Speaking with CNN some days ago, Omotola explained why she was angry with the whole situation back then. She said that she felt hurt, when she was shooting a film in the area, which also revolves around the struggle.

According to her, “It’s very sad. You need to go to the Niger-Delta Region to know what the people are are going through. You then begin to ask yourself that why is there no one helping these people? If you go there today, most of the locals do not have jobs because they are basically fishermen. Most of the women work in the field and the world is silent.

“I shot a movie there recently about the Niger-Delta situation called ‘Up Creek’ and I wept, when I was shooting the movie. I know why these people are angry and to say the truth, I am really and truly angry (with the situation of things there).”

Tunde Kelani, Desmond Elliot, Others For Jide Kosoko 60th Birthday Lecture

Few days ago, veteran actor, Prince Jide Kosoko clocked 60 years of age. Even though the day was marked with a low key celebration, a Nollywood body has taken it upon itself to celebrate the impact the controversial President of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners, ANTP, has made in the motion picture industry in Nigeria.

A lecture would be held in honour of the veteran actor on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at the Eagles Park, Ikeja, Lagos. The lecture will be delivered by Obi Asika, while the likes of Desmond Elliot, Fidelis Duker, Tunde Kelani and Wemimo Ogunde will serve as panellists. The event is slated to start by 9am.

US pop music stars Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull will join Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte on the official World Cup anthem “We Are One,” FIFA announced in Rio on Thursday.

“Only music and football can attract 80,000 people to a stadium, but a concert has just one artist, while football has 22,” said FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke at Brazil’s Maracana Stadium.

“We are here to break down barriers and show that through sports and music we are one,” said Pitbull, a Cuban-American rapper whose real name is Armando Christian Perez, at the event held here five months before kickoff.

Leitte said the song would show off her country’s love affair with musical and sporting rhythm.

“Music is my passion and football is the passion of the Brazilian people,” the singer said.

“We want to show the passion and the culture — that’s what we have in this record. We are in the finishing phases.

Former Brazilian skipper and World Cup winner Cafu said the song “incorporates the rhythms of Brazil and of the Brazilian people — people will dance to the World Cup beat.”

Alexandre Schiavo, president of FIFA commercial partner Sony Music Brazil, also praised the happy marriage between football-loving Brazil and its infectious music.

“Brazilian music is very rich and music and football is a passionate combination,” Schiavo said.

Organizers hope the recording enjoys similar success to Colombian star Shakira’s “Waka Waka” signature tune from the last World Cup, held in South Africa in 2010.

That track was a huge success, notching up more than half a billion Youtube views.

Veteran actress and mother of star director Clarence Peters spoke about her disappointment with how the movie industry is today:

“It hasn’t improved at all. It is now a proverbial ‘ state’ that makes one to weep. Everything has fallen to a disgraceful state. No standards are left. I was on a location in Enugu last month and the production manager was insulting the director of photographer. I was shocked.

The producer and the director were shouting at each other. I could not imagine it. The artistic director would just walk away and actors are not directed on what to do. Any green horn could hit the set and believe that she could sleep her way to the top. She is pretty and sleeps with the Executive Producer. It’s just sickening.

And they say to you, this movie is meant for the market and the cinema. It is not for film festival, just do it anyhow because this is for inside the market. That goes to show there are no standards. It is pathetic.”

Leave it to Kim Kardashian to talk about her sister’s personal woes on live television.
When the 33-year-old appeared on Thursday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, she openly discussed Khloé's personal issues with estranged husband Lamar Odom.
“Khloé wasn’t trying to get pregnant,” the bombshell said about her younger sister, who had trouble conceiving and recently admitted she stopped trying for a child with the NBA athlete a long time ago.


“She wasn’t showing up to these doctor appointments on purpose and behind our backs because she knew [the marriage] wasn’t working.”
To be fair, Jimmy pressed on the issue, which is why Kim shared the information.
But when the host said, “You knew Khloé and Lamar weren’t going to work out, you said it,” she claimed she never remembered saying that.
She was, however, quick to point out that another Kardashian may have been the one who did!
“That doesn’t seem like I something I would have said, maybe Kourtney said it,” shared Kim, who showed off her post-pregnancy curves in a plunging pink Dior outfit.

Harping on Khloé’s failed marriage wasn’t the only subject on the table.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians starlet made sure to praise the 29-year-old as the best babysitter for her own 7-month-old daughter, tNorh.
Khloé filed for divorce from the 6-foot-10 athlete on Dec. 13 following months of allegations he had been having extramarital affairs and using drugs. They were married for four years.
